LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 30, 2020) –John Thelin is widely considered one of the pre-eminent historians of higher education in America. His work – A History of Higher Education in America – is considered a seminal work regarding the evolution of colleges and universities in this country. He is a prolific writer and author, having explored topics as far-reaching as college sports, public policy and philanthropy.

During this public health crisis, he has been interviewed in publications across the country, such as The Atlantic, about the impact of the virus on colleges and universities.

On this special edition of Behind the Blue, Thelin discusses obstacles that have confronted higher education before and the challenges that now lie ahead.
