LEXINGTON, Ky. (August 24, 2023) – Once again setting a record for first-year enrollment, the University of Kentucky is beginning its fall 2023 semester. With more than 6,000 new students beginning their college careers, UK’s mission of teaching, research, service and health care is more expansive, and more critical to advancing Kentucky, than ever.

Entering his 13th year of overseeing the Commonwealth’s flagship and land-grant research university, Dr. Eli Capilouto talks with UK’s Amy Timoney about his outlook and optimism for the new school year, the foundational goals that are needed for student success, the issues and challenges the university must come together to face, and more.
